CLARION, Pa.- On the heels of a convincing 3-0 victory over Wilmington, West Chester (3-0-1, 2-0-1 PSAC) took to the road on Saturday to face Clarion (0-4-0, 0-4-0 PSAC) looking to extend its winning streak to three games in a row. West Chester did just that defeating Clarion by a final score of 1-0.
How it Happened:
- Julia Kirkpatrick (Brick, N.J./Brick Township) scored in the sixth minute of play when she hit a perfect free kick to give West Chester the early 1-0 advantage.
- McKenna Mullin (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy) played well throughout the afternoon making three big saves on seven shots to keep Clarion off the scoreboard. Her counterpart Clarion goalie Krista Mosi made two nice saves of her own but her team could not overcome the early goal by Kirkpatrick.
Inside the Box Score:
- West Chester and Clarion were even in both shots and corners as each side took seven shots including three shots on goal along with two corner kicks for each team.
- With her goal this afternoon Kirkpatrick became the fifth Golden Ram to score in the 2018 season.
