WEST CHESTER, Pa.- Looking to extend its winning streak to a season-long four games, the West Chester University women's basketball team (8-10, 4-6 PSAC) remained home on Friday evening to welcome PSAC East foe Lock Haven (8-9, 4-7 PSAC). West Chester defeated its guests by a final score of 77-71 thanks in large part to all five Golden Ram starters finishing the game in double-figures led by a game-high 19 points from senior Madison Torresin (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley).
West Chester now holds a commanding 31-12 advantage in all-time series between these two rivals while the Golden Rams are also winners of three straight in this matchup.

How it Happened:
- West Chester opened the game with a 13-0 run over the course of the first three and a half minutes of play, which prompted an early Lock Haven timeout. Following this timeout, Lock Haven did manage to get on the scoreboard but West Chester used its early run to hold a 24-15 lead at the end of the first quarter.
- In the second quarter, West Chester struggled offensively throughout shooting just 23.5 % (4-for-17) from the field after going 10-for-17 (58.8 %) from field goal range in the opening stanza. Despite this poor shooting performance and being outscored 14-9 the Golden Rams still held a slim 33-29 lead heading to the halftime break.
- The second half was a tight affair throughout as each side registered 23 points in the third quarter, which allowed the Golden Rams to maintain a slim four point lead heading to the fourth.
- In the final quarter of play, Lock Haven captured its first lead of the game late in the contest at 63-62 but a late run by West Chester sealed the victory as the Golden Rams managed to outscore their guests 21-19 in the final stanza to earn the 77-71 victory.
Golden Ram Rundown:
- Torresin led five Golden Rams in double-figures with 19 points and two rebounds while teammate Destiny Jefferson (Scranton, Pa./West Scranton) finished with 17 points of her own while also tying the game-high for stelas with three steals on the evening.
- Gabrielle Troisi (Norristown, Pa./Pope John Paul II) narrowly missed registering a triple-double as she finished the contest with 12 points, a game-high 14 rebounds, and nine assists on the evening. Freshman teammate Zhane Snow (Wilmington, Del./Concord) finished with 12 points and eight rebounds of her own while Katherine Fisher (Rutledge, Pa./Strath Haven) ended with 10 points, seven assists, and five rebounds as the final Golden Ram in double-figures.
- Troisi's 14 rebound performance is just one rebound shy of her career-high of 15 while her nine helpers sets a new season-high while also tying her previous career-high.
- As a team, West Chester ended the game shooting 47.7 % (31-for-65) from the field while also shooting 29.2 % (7-of-24) from deep. The Golden Rams also ended the contest shooting 47.1 % (8-of-17) from the charity stripe.
- West Chester also ended the game with a 23-18 advantage in points off turnovers and a 14-6 advantage in fast break points to help the homestanding Golden Rams pick up their fourth victory in as many tries.
- West Chester also remains undefeated when shooting above 37.5 % from the field following this evenings victory.
Looking at Lock Haven:
- Ahnera Parker ended the game as the Bald Eagles leading scorer with 17 points on 7-of-12 shooting while Taylor Leidy and Rileigh Divine were the other two leading scorers for the Golden Rams visitors ending the contest with 15 points and 13 points, respectively.
- Bink Redman narrowly missed a triple-double of her own as she ended the contest with 10 rebounds, eight assists, and six points in the loss.
- As a team, Lock Haven shot just 40.9 % (27-of-66) from the field while shooting 28.6 % from three-point range and 78.6 % (11-of-14) from the stripe.
- Lock Haven also ended the contest with a narrow plus-five (41-46) advantage in rebounding thanks in large part to a plus-four (13-9) advantage on the offensive glass.
- The Bald Eagles leveraged this rebounding advantage into an 11-7 advantage in second chance points while also ending the contest with a 14-7 edge in bench points.
