Men's Swimming Completes Impressive Opening Weekend In Connecticut

NEW HAVEN, Conn
. - West Chester University men's swimming sophomore Logan Brockway (York, Pa. / Dallastown) posted first-place showings in the 100-yard backstroke and the 400-yard medley relay in Saturday's events at Southern Connecticut State that featured the Owls and Shippensburg University.
 
West Chester (2-1) picked up a pair of wins against the opponents, defeating SCSU, 222-146 and Shippensburg, 247.50-109.50.
 
Freshman Evan Parkhill (Southampton, Pa. / Lasalle) placed first in 100-yard breaststroke while contributing with second-place finishes in the 200-yard medley relay and the 400-yard medley relay.
 
Freshman Carter Smith (Clark Summit, Pa. / Abington Heights) placed third in the 1-meter diving competition with 194.35 points and second in the 3-meter diving competition with 174.07 points.
 
West Chester had three teams finish in the top five in the 400-yard medley relay and three teams finish in the top four in the 100-yard butterfly.
 
Junior Jarod Anderson (Newville, Pa. / Big Spring) finished first in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 1:59.26.
 
Junior Keir Uhlin (Lititz, Pa. / Warwick) finished the 200-yard freestyle in first place while sophomore Christopher Kelly (Huntingdon Valley, Pa. / Lower Moreland) was not far behind in third.
 
West Chester is in action again at home on Friday against Bloomsburg and Leigh at 5 p.m.
