SHEPHERDSTOWN, W. Va. - No. 23-ranked West Chester University men's soccer junior
Colin Muller (Bethlehem, Pa. / Liberty) scored the lone goal on a penalty kick as West Chester defeated Shepherd in a 1-0 defensive battle on Saturday.

How it happened:
- The defense was on display in the first half as neither team could connect for a goal. West Chester led Shepherd in shots eight to six, with four shots on goal for West Chester.
- It was more of the same in the second half until the 82nd minute, when West Chester drew a penalty in Shepherd's 18-yard box. Muller stepped up to take the kick, and beat the keeper for the only goal of the day.
Inside the numbers:
- Muller's goal was his first of the season for West Chester. He has four assists.
- Daniel Good (Exton Pa. / Downingtown East) tallied three saves in net on the way to his sixth shutout of the season.
- West Chester is now 3-2 against Shepherd dating back to 2009.Â
