Shane Hartey (Runnemede, N.J. / Triton Hall) scored his third goal in the past three games as No. 20-ranked West Chester University men's soccer defeated Lock Haven 1-0 on the road on Wednesday. The Golden Rams improve to 10-2-1 on the season as their 7-1-1 conference record solidifies their standing as the top-seeded team in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference East Division.
How it happened:
- Hartey fought off a defender for a loose ball deep in Bald Eagles territory at the 35th minute. He then trucked past another defender as well as the Bald Eagles' goalkeeper and sent the ball into the back of the net to give the Golden Rams the lead. | WCU 1-0
- West Chester maintained the 1-0 lead at halftime, outshooting Lock Haven 9-3 in the first half.
- The Golden Rams remained on the offensive in the second half, tallying eight more shots but could not connect for a second goal. Meanwhile, Lock Haven struggled to get shots up, managing only one on goal. West Chester held the 1-0 lead for the entirety of the second half.

- The Golden Rams are now 6-3 in their last 10 matches against the Bald Eagles, dating back to 2011.
- Freshman goalkeeper Daniel Good (Exton, PA. / Downingtown East) made one save on the way to his seventh shutout of the season.
- Hartey's goal is his fourth on the season, trailing only junior Doug Goitia's (Mount Pocono, Pa. / Pocono Mountain East) five goals for the team lead.
- The Golden Rams now hold a five-point lead over Millersville for the top seed in the PSAC East. Millersville faces Shippensburg tonight before travelling to West Chester this Saturday to potentially battle for the top-seed.
