18th-Ranked West Chester Falls To Bloomsburg, 2-0

BLOOMSBURG, Pa. - The No. 18 West Chester University Golden Rams' men's soccer team was defeated by Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference East Division rival Bloomsburg University, 2-0, on Wednesday.

Following the loss, West Chester owns a 7-2-1 record (4-1-1 in conference) and remains atop the conference standings. Bloomsburg jumps to 4-6-0 overall and 3-2-0 in league play.

How it Happened:
  • The Huskies jumped out to an early lead, scoring a goal in the fourth minute.
  • West Chester tallied nine shots (three on goal) in the first half, but could not connect for a goal.
  • The score would remain 1-0 until the 85th minute, when Bloomsburg scored its second goal of the day.
Inside the Numbers:
  • The Golden Rams are now 3-5-2 in their last 10 matches against Bloomsburg.
  • Today's match was the first time this season that West Chester has been shutout. Bloomsburg also handed West Chester its first PSAC loss of the season.
  • Bloomsburg outshot West Chester, 19-18, while the teams were even with eight shots on goal each.
  • Freshman goalkeeper Daniel Good (Exton, PA / Downingtown West), recorded six saves in net for the Golden Rams.
