Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men's Soccer Falls in PSAC Semifinals to No. 5 Gannon, 2-1 in OT

MILLERSVILLE, Pa. - Colin Muller (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty) scored just before halftime, but the Golden Rams could not quite hold the lead as Gannon evened things up late and then got the game-winner in overtime to advance to the PSAC Championship Game Friday night at Pucillo Field on the campus of Millersville University.

Gannon (16-1-0) moves on to the conference title match to play Millersville, which was a winner over Mercyhurst in the other semifinal. West Chester (14-4-1) was bidding to make the championship game a rematch of last season's tussle that reached penalty kicks, but fell just short of that goal.

How it Happened:
  • It was a back-and-forth first half until the 43rd minute when Colin Muller scored for West Chester. Fellow junior Vito Vincent (King of Prussia, Pa./Upper Merion) picked up the assist as the Golden Rams took the lead over the Knights.
  • West Chester went into the half with the 1-0 lead over Gannon. The Golden Rams possessed a narrow 11-9 lead in shots in the first half.
  • The Knights fought back in the 86th minute when Sergio Del Castillo scored to force overtime.
  • Just over six minutes into overtime, Joe Knox scored the game-winning goal from the 18-yard line as the Golden Knights defeat the Golden Rams in overtime.
Inside the Numbers:
  • Muller's goal was his second of the season.
  • West Chester now drops to 14-4-1 on the season.
  • The Golden Rams now stand at 5-5-1 all-time against the Knights.
