SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - Junior
Doug Goitia (Mount Pocono, Pa./Pocono Mountain East) scored the lone goal of the game as West Chester defeated Shippensburg, 1-0, in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) men's soccer match on Saturday.
West Chester (12-3-1, 8-2-1), which has already wrapped up a spot in the postseason tournament, is currently in second place in the Eastern Division standings just one point behind first-place Millersville. The Golden Rams will conclude their regular season at home next Wednesday while the Marauders have two games left to play in the regular season. West Chester cannot fall any further in the Eastern Division standings. It will either finish first, or second.
How it Happened:
- It was a scoreless first half as West Chester outshot Shippensburg, 9-2.
- Goitia got on the board in the 58th minute as he scored on a rebound from a Daniel Grindrod (Feasterville, Pa./Neshaminy) shot.

- Freshman goalkeeper Daniel Good (Exton, Pa./Downingtown East) tallied his eighth shutout of the season. He made three saves on the day.
- Goitia's goal is his team-leading seventh of the season.
- The Golden Rams remain one point behind Millersville for first place in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference.
