SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - West Chester University women's soccer scored a season-high seven goals in a 7-2 win at Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference opponent Shippensburg University on Saturday. WCU scored all of its goals in a span of 26 minutes of game time.

The Golden Rams (11-3-1 overall, 10-3-1 PSAC) had five different goal scorers against the Raiders (7-10, 5-10) in their highest scoring effort since netting 11 goals against Salem University on Oct. 24, 2016. West Chester hadn't scored this many goals in a PSAC match since the team beat University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown 9-0 on Oct. 22, 2014.
How it happened:
- Shippensburg took a 1-0 lead in the ninth minute and held that lead for the majority of the first half.
- West Chester got on the board for the first time in the 44th minute as sophomore Katie Crouthamel (Quakertown, Pa. / Quakertown) scored to tie things up.
- Just over eight minutes into the second half, Golden Rams senior Madison Baxter (Downingtown, Pa. / Downingtown West) sent a hard shot high over top of the goalkeeper to give her team the lead.
- Crouthamel scored again in the 57th minute, and the Golden Rams began to pull away.
- Junior Hannah Zach (Doylestown, Pa. / Central Bucks East) scored from 25 yards out at the 59:03 mark, and WCU had a 4-1 lead.
- Shippensburg's Izzy Weigel scored her second goal of the day in the 65th minute to complete the scoring for the Raiders.
- Freshman Kaleigh Harmon (Middletown, N.J. / Middletown North) joined the scoring parade by netting the first goal of her career in the 66th minute on a pass through the box from junior Dani Cady (Yardley, Pa. / Pennsbury).
- Just over one minute later, senior Jenny Bail (Carlisle, Pa. / Cumberland Valley) took a shot from 30 yards out and succeeded, giving the Golden Rams a 6-2 advantage.
- Zach scored again in the 69th minute, concluding the wild day of scoring for West Chester.
Inside the numbers:
- Zach's 10 goals on the season lead West Chester and are tied for fourth in the PSAC.
- Bail is second on the Golden Rams with six goals this year while Baxter and Crouthamel have four, slotting them one behind junior Olivia Muha (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Montour) in a tie for fourth.
- Harmon's goal makes her the 11th West Chester player to score this season. And Cady moves into first on the team with her assist on Harmon's goal, giving her four this season.
- The Golden Rams had already clinched a spot in the PSAC tournament, but they're still fighting for seeding as they're tied with Millersville for third, and they're two points behind East Stroudsburg for second.Â
