Box Score WEST CHESTER, Pa. – The West Chester University men's tennis team suffered a heart-breaking 4-3 loss against Kutztown University to open Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East play on Saturday afternoon at the South Campus Courts.
The Golden Rams (0-9, 0-1 PSAC), who entered today's contest without having scored a point so far this season, won two doubles matches on the afternoon to take a 1-0 lead into singles action. Down 1-0, the visiting Golden Bears (1-7) went on to win four of the possible six individual points to give Kutztown the 4-3 come-from-behind victory on Saturday.
After dropping No. 1 singles to start the afternoon, West Chester stormed back to claim the doubles point following victories by
Devin Paulison (MILFORD, PA/DELAWARE VALLEY)/
Noah DeCampo (LITTLESTOWN, PA/LITTLESTOWN) at second flight (6-4) and the tandem of
Gavin Kenny (HANOVER, PA/ SOUTH WESTERN)/
Brett Spano (6-3) at third position.
WCU earned two singles wins on the day, as Decampo took sixth position 6-0, 6-4 and Kenny grabbed fourth singles 6-2, 6-4.
