WEST LIBERTY, W.V.- The West Chester University men's tennis team was back in action on Saturday afternoon against a regional foe in West Liberty. West Chester battled throughout the match but it was not enough to pull off the upset as the Golden Rams fell by a final of 7-0 to remain winless on the 2018-19 season.
Doubles:
At first doubles, Chris Succi (Yardley, Pa./Pennsburg) and Adam Courtemanche (Greenville, R.I./Smithfield) fell by a score of 6-0 before Gavin Kenny (Hanover, Pa./South Western) and Brett Spano dropped second doubles by a score of 6-2 as well to drop the Golden Rams to 0-2 in doubles play. The third doubles match that featured Noah Decampo (Littlestown, Pa./Littlestown) and Logan Bartholomew (Etters, Pa./Red Land) and was close throughout but West Liberty prevailed by a final of 6-2.
Singles:
Succi dropped first singles 6-2, 6-2 before Courtemanche fell 6-3, 6-3 in second singles. Kenny followed this up with a 6-2, 6-1 loss of his own at third singles before Spano fell 6-1, 6-2 in fourth singles. In the fifth spot, Decampo also fell 6-1, 6-2 while Bartholomew dropped sixth singles by a score 6-0, 6-0 to bring the match to its 7-0 conclusion.
West Chester will be back in action tomorrow on the road at Fairmont State in what will be the final match of the Golden Rams weekend trip to West Virginia. Â
