West Chester Head Coach Bill Zwaan Announces Recruiting Class For This Fall

WEST CHESTER, Pa. – West Chester University head coach Bill Zwaan released his 2019 recruiting class recently as the Golden Rams begin summer preparation for the upcoming fall season.
 
Zwaan's class of 35 individuals included 20 players on the offensive side of the ball, 13 on defense and a pair of kickers/punters. Among the 20 offensive individuals were eight that play the offensive line. Eight of the 13 on defense project to play in the secondary.
 
"Once again, I really like our recruiting class," Zwaan stated. "We had to sign a big class this year because we lost a big group of seniors. Two main areas of concentration for us were the offensive line and defensive backs. We feel like we had great success in those areas. We are expecting a couple of the freshmen to help us right away. We may lack a little experience at some positions, but we are now deep with talent at every position."
 
The class also includes a trio of transfers, who could step in and contribute immediately. Clements and Lockett each participated in spring drills and played in the spring game in late April. Poquie was recruited to the University of Virginia to play lacrosse. He will have every opportunity to step right into the Golden Rams' backfield and carry the workload.
 
West Chester opens the 2019 fall campaign at home against Bentley University on Saturday, Sept. 7 with a 12 p.m. kickoff at John A. Farrell Stadium.
