Rouse Opens Camp With The Packers; Williams Coaching With The Bears

GREEN BAY, Wis. - Former West Chester University standouts Nydair Rouse (Philadelphia, Pa./Simon Gratz) and Ronell Williams (Chester, Pa./Chester) each began their journeys in the National Football League (NFL) when the two broke camp with two of the most storied franchises in the league on Wednesday morning.

Rouse opened up his rookie season with the Green Bay Packers when the squad lifted the lid on its 100th professional season while Williams begins his first season as a quality control coach on defense for the Chicago Bears.

Rouse was signed by the Green Bay Packers after the NFL Draft and participated in the OTA (offseason training activities) with the club this past spring. He completed his four-year college career last fall with the Golden Rams with 19 tackles, 18 of the solo variety, while intercepting two passes and breaking up five more. He was also credited with a pair of QB hurries. He finished his college career with 78 tackles and eight interceptions. He returned three of those picks for a touchdown in 2016. He appeared in 45 games and was credited with 23 passes defensed over the last four football seasons.

Williams re-joins the Bears as a defensive quality control coach after being hired by the club on January 18, 2019. Williams' first stint with Chicago came in 2018 when he joined the Bears coaching staff throughout the duration of training camp as part of the NFL's Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellowship. Williams was an All-America middle linebacker for the Golden Rams from 2011-14. He led West Chester in tackles each of his first three seasons at the school and ranks third all-time in total tackles with 376.
