Box Score WEST CHESTER, Pa. - No. 13-ranked West Chester women's soccer was back in action at home on Wednesday afternoon against Mansfield University. The Golden Rams (2-0, 1-0 PSAC) used some late offense in the scorching heat to run to a 3-0 victory over the Mountaineers (0-2, 0-1) to open Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference play.
How It Happened:
- Golden Rams senior Jenny Bail (Carlisle, Pa. / Cumberland Valley) had nine shots on goal in the first half, but neither team scored.
- Minutes after halftime ended, sophomore Dani Cady (Yardley, Pa. / Pennsbury) struck a shot off the left post from the right side of the 18-yard box that clanked in for the first goal of the game. Junior Sam Jankowski (Elysburg, Pa. / Southern Columbia) had the assist.
- In the 82nd minute, Jankowski scored the second goal of the game and her first goal of the season.
- As the clock was winding down, junior Olivia Muha (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Montour) entered the 18 and scored her second goal of the season.
The Golden Rams only allowed three shots on goal throughout the game. West Chester had 38 shots.
West Chester remains home for its third game of the season on Saturday against PSAC-opponent Shepherd University on Rockwell Field at 2 p.m.
