WEST CHESTER, Pa. - The West Chester University women's soccer team (3-0, 2-0-0 PSAC) played at home on Saturday afternoon to take on Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference contender Shepherd University (0-2-1, 0-2-0 PSAC) in a competitively fought game. West Chester used two late goals by sophomore
Jenna Peters (Fairless Hills, Pa. / Pennsbury) to seal the conference win.
How It Happened:
- West Chester took 11 shots in the first half but wasn't able to get a clear shot as the Golden Rams were held scoreless.
- Shepherd scored the first goal of the game 10 minutes into the second half by taking advantage of a one-on-one opportunity with Golden Rams senior goalkeeper Brooke Myers (Middletown, Pa. / Middletown Area).
- West Chester got on the board minutes later when junior Hannah Zach (Bucks County, Pa. / Central Bucks East) dribbled past two defenders to tie the score with her third goal of the season
- In the 76th minute senior Jenny Bail (Carlisle, Pa. / Cumberland Valley) scored her first goal of the season on a quick shot that was presented to her on a pass from Peters to put the Rams up 2-1
- In the 83rd minute Peters received the ball from freshman Kaleigh Harmon (Middletown, N.J. / Middletown North) to score her first goal of the season and advance the Rams to a 3-1 lead.
- Just over a minute of game time later, Peters continued her hot streak by scoring with the assist coming from sophomore Mikaela Berg (Rising Sun, Md. / Rising Sun) to give West Chester the 4-1 win.

- West Chester outshot Shepherd 23-5 throughout the game.
- Myers improves to 3-0 in goal, recording four saves and allowing her first goal this season.
- The Golden Rams are 3-0 for the first time since 2016.
