#9 West Chester Tops #16 East Stroudsburg 1-0 On The Road

EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – No. 9-ranked West Chester women's soccer (4-0-0, 3-0-0 PSAC) used a goal from sophomore Katie Crouthamel (Quakertown, Pa./Quakertown) late in the first half to top No. 16 East Stroudsburg 1-0 on Tuesday.

The game-winning goal against the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference rival was Crouthamel's first of the season in her team's first road game.

How It Happened:
  • Crouthamel scored in the 29th minute.
  • Senior goalkeeper Brooke Myers (Hershey, Pa./Middletown) had eight saves against the Warriors to record her third shutout of the season. The Golden Rams have only allowed one goal thus far.
  • Junior Hannah Zach (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks East) and senior Jenny Bail (Carlisle, Pa./Cumberland Valley) both had two shots on goal to give the Golden Rams some momentum.

In other news Tuesday, West Chester jumped to No. 9 nationally in the United Soccer Coaches' Poll. The Golden Rams are currently the highest ranked PSAC team. Other PSAC teams in the poll this week are No. 16 East Stroudsburg and No. 23 Millersville University.

West Chester is in action again on Saturday against Lock Haven University in a PSAC matchup at 1:30 p.m.
