Bail’s Two Goals Lead West Chester Over Lock Haven

WEST CHESTER, Pa. –West Chester University women's soccer (5-0-0, 4-0-0) defeated Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference contender Lock Haven University 3-0 on Saturday afternoon. The Golden Rams used two early goals from Jenny Bail (Carlisle, Pa. / Cumberland Valley) to pick up victory.
 
How it happened:
 
  • The Golden Rams acted quickly in the first half as Bail's first goal was assisted by junior Dani Cady (Yardley, Pa. / Pennsbury) in the sixth minute.
  • In the 23rd minute, Bail scored her second goal of the game on an assist from Cady in almost the exact same fashion as the first.
  • Midway through the second half, junior Hannah Zach (Doylestown, Pa. / Central Bucks East) scored as well.
 
Inside the numbers:
  • Bail has three goals this season, and Zach leads the team with four.
  • Senior Brooke Myers (Hersey, Pa. / Middletown) kept the Lady Eagles scoreless throughout the game with about 20 minutes of help from freshman goalkeeper Emily Helmich (Holland, Pa. / Council Rock South), who made her collegiate debut.

The Golden Rams are on the road against Mansfield University on Wednesday at 4 p.m. West Chester defeated Mansfield 3-0 at Rockwell Field on Sept. 11.
