Golden Rams Sneak Past Lock Haven, Win 1-0 In Double OT

WEST CHESTER, Pa. - Stephen Thompson (Mechanicsburg, Pa. / Cumberland Valley) found Shane Hartey (Runnemede, N.J. / Triton Hall) for the game-winning goal in the 106th minute of West Chester men's soccer's 1-0 win over Lock Haven on Saturday.
 
The Golden Rams improve to 4-1 overall and 2-0 in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference play with the win.

How it happened:
  • The Golden Rams outshot the Bald Eagles 11-2 in the game, but the Lock Haven goalkeeper made five saves to keep his team in it.
  • Hartey, a sophomore, scored his first goal of the season on a header as Thompson sent a free kick into the 18-yard box from the far left side of the field.
Inside the numbers:
  • West Chester has won each of its last two games 1-0. The Golden Rams beat East Stroudsburg with a goal during the 90th minute on Tuesday.
  • Three of West Chester's five games have gone to overtime this season.
