CALIFORNIA, Pa. - West Chester University women's volleyball lost in five sets for the second day in a row, this time at California University in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference battle on Saturday afternoon.

The Golden Rams (12-3 overall, 0-2 PSAC) have lost three straight after winning their first 12 to start the season. The set scores versus the Vulcans were (20-25, 25-22, 25-20, 10-25, 5-15)

Grace Whitney (Glenside, Pa. / Abington) had an outstanding match, mashing 17 kills on 27 attempts with no errors.
How it happened:
- Cal won 13 of 18 points during the middle of the first set, and the Golden Rams never overcame the deficit.
- West Chester figured things out after trailing 8-3 in the second set to comeback and win it 25-22. The Golden Rams never trailed in the third set.
- The Vulcans put their foot on the gas pedal in the fourth set, winning the first five points and the last seven. Cal took a 7-0 lead in the fifth set and never let it get close.Â
Inside the numbers:
- Sophomore Olivia Rudjord (Fogelsville, Pa. / Allentown Central Catholic) joined Whitney as the two Golden Rams with double-digit kills. Rudjord had 10 with a .381 hitting percentage.
- Senior Emily Ahern (Morton, Pa. / Ridley) put up 17 assists and 15 digs.Â

West Chester has its first PSAC home match on Friday at 7 p.m. against Indiana University of Pennsylvania. The Golden Rams haven't played at home since Sept. 10.
