WEST CHESTER, Pa. - West Chester University men's basketball has now lost three of four games after a program-record 13-0 start. Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference East Division contender Kutztown University beat the Golden Rams, 92-78, at Hollinger Field House on Saturday.

The Golden Rams (14-3 overall, 8-3 PSAC) remain in second place in the PSAC East despite their recent struggles. The Golden Bears (8-9, 6-5) are in third place.

West Chester trailed for almost all of the first half but kept it close, going into the locker room down 32-30. Kutztown took control in the second half, leading by as many as 19 points with 7:47 left in regulation.

Free throws were a vital part of Kutztown's victory as it shot 42-of-52 from the line. West Chester went 15-for-27. WCU sophomore
Kyle McGee (Jersey City, N.J. / St. Mary's of the Assumption) and junior
Antoine Lewis (New Rochelle, N.Y. / New Rochelle) both fouled out, and five other Golden Rams committed four fouls.

Five West Chester players scored in double figures with senior
Malik Jackson (Lansdowne, Pa. / Penn Wood) leading the way at 16 points. He also had a team-high six rebounds and 37 minutes played, 11 more than any other West Chester player.

Malik Slay (Philadelphia, Pa. / Downingtown East) and
Matt Dade (Collegeville, Pa. / Episcopal Academy) had season highs with 13 and 12 points, respectively.

The Golden Rams are back in Hollinger Field House on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. to take on East Stroudsburg University in another PSACÂ East matchup.
