DAHLONEGA, Ga. Emily Maseth (Westminster, Md. / Westminster) hit two doubles as No. 8 West Chester dropped an extra innings match against No. 21 Southern Indiana on Sunday. Following the loss, West Chester's record is 1-2 on the season while Southern Indiana improves to 3-2.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- After two scoreless innings, Southern Indiana struck first, scoring a run in each of the top of the third and fourth innings, giving them a 2-0 lead.
- The Golden Rams responded in the bottom of the fourth, as Olivia Bernstein (Glenside, Pa. / Abington) hit a sacrifice fly to score left fielder Jaime Klemas (South Brunswick, N.J. / South Brunswick) to cut the Screaming Eagles' lead to one run.
- West Chester tied the game in the bottom of the fifth when Annamarie Hartman (Phoenix, Ariz. / Xavier College Prep) scored on an RBI double from Emily Maseth.
- The score would remain 2-2 into extra innings, when a three-run home run gave Southern Indiana a 5-2 lead in the top of the eighth inning.
- West Chester could not connect in the bottom half of the inning, as Southern Indiana came out on top 5-2.

INSIDE THE STATS:
- Maseth tallied three of West Chester's five hits while going three-for-three with two doubles, one walk, and one RBI.
- Hartman went one-for-two for West Chester and had a double, one walk, one stolen base, and one run scored.
- Starting pitcher Maegen Kavanagh (Easton, Pa. / Easton) pitched seven-plus innings while allowing four runs scored on 11 hits.

- Maseth now owns 48 career doubles, the second most in program history. Maseth is two doubles away from tying 2003 alum Beth Frey for most doubles in program history at 50.
