Men's Swimming Cruises Past Arcadia

WEST CHESTER, Pa.-
The West Chester men's swimming and diving team returned to the pool on Friday evening against Arcadia University. West Chester got out to a hot start and carried this quick start throughout the meet as the Golden Rams captured 11 of 14 events en route to a 164-88 victory over Arcadia on Friday evening.

West Chester started its evening with a pair of top two finishes in the 400 medley relay as the Golden Rams won the event with a time of three minutes and 33.02 seconds while their second-place finisher touched the wall in 3:43.31.

Collin Petit (Havertown, Pa./Haverford) followed this up with his first victory of the evening in the 1000-free, touching the wall in 9:59.76 while Tom Powell III (West Grove, Pa./Bishop Shanahan) who later won the 500-free with a time of 4:49.94, touched the wall in 10:04.97 to finish second in this event.

Logan Brockway (York, Pa./Dallastown) captured the 200-free with a time of 1:46.17 followed by Brody Heckman (Reading, Pa./Wilson) in second with a time of 1:47.31.

In the 100 backstroke, Ben Desclous (Hagerstown, Md./North Hagerstown) logged the first of his two victories on the evening, touching the wall in 53.57 before also capturing the 100-free later in the evening with a time of 48.03.

Nikita Pisarenko (Tallinn, Estonia) registered a victory of his own in the 100 breaststroke, registering a time of 59.27 while Stephen Dow (Landenberg, Pa/Avon Grove) and A.J. McClurkin (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy) touched the wall in 1:01.97 and 1:02.77 to finish in second and third, respectively.

Gabe Laslo (Wind Gap, Pa./Nazareth Academy) turned in a winning performance of his own in the 200-butterfly, touching the wall in 1:56.38 to lead a trio of Golden Rams in this event.

Nolan Benner (Green Lane, Pa./Boyertown), Dalton Fink (Pottstown, Pa./Owen J. Roberts), and McClurkin also registered victories for West Chester on Friday evening as Benner took the 50-free with a time of 21.80, while Fink captured the 200-back in 1:59.25, with McClurkin taking the 200-breast in 2:18.26 to help lead West Chester to its victory on Friday evening.

The Golden Rams return to the pool next Friday night on the road at Lehigh with that meet set to begin at 5 p.m.
