WEST CHESTER, PA - West Chester University's women's volleyball team dominated against Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) rival East Stroudsburg in a 3-1 victory on Friday evening.
West Chester (14-5, 4-2 PSAC) pulled into a tie for second place in the Eastern Division as a result of the win over East Stroudsburg (8-9, 4-2). The Golden Rams won the first two sets by scores of 25-17 and 27-25, before falling in the third set 28-26. However, the Golden Rams rallied take the fourth set, 25-22.

Julia Vreeswyk (Yardley, PA / Pennsbury) totaled a game-high 22 kills. Setter
Jamie Byrne (Bethlehem, PA / Liberty) posted 55 assists and 22 digs while
Sydney Heffner (Bath, PA / Northampton) tallied 23 digs to lead four players in double figures.
Olivia Rudjord (Fogelsville, Pa./Allentown Central Catholic) posted 15 kills and hit .353 for the match. She also registered three blocks and six digs.
Maria Harding (Nazareth, Pa./Nazareth) posted 16 kills.
Maddy Moore (Newtown, Pa./Council Rock North) recorded four service aces.
East Stroudsburg hit just .160 for the four-set match while West Chester hit .230. The Golden Rams registered 84 digs and seven blocks in the win. The Warriors slow start in the first two sets dug too large of a hole for the guests to climb out of.
Following a first set that was controlled by West Chester, the intensity picked up in the second set when East Stroudsburg made a run of five consecutive points to pull within one, 20-19. The Golden Rams applied more pressure down the stretch to seal the win, 27-25, and take a commanding 2-0 lead in the contest.
The third set was a see-saw battle back-and-forth between the PSAC foes until East Stroudsburg recorded two points to tally the win, 28-26.
West Chester brought it home after the powerful offense posted three kills late in the fourth set to lift the Golden Rams to a 3-1 match victory.
East Stroudsburg was led by Ali Finch led the visitors with 10 kills and 36 assists. Emily Meredith had 23 digs.
The Golden Rams will be back on their home court tomorrow to challenge Kutztown at 1 p.m.
