MILLERSVILLE, PA—After coming off a stinging away trip against Lock Haven, West Chester came to look ahead to their familiar foes, the Millersville Marauders. It took overtime but West Chester prevailed over host Millersville by a final of 1-0.
West Chester looked to strike early on, but Millersville's defense held up firm in the first half, holding West Chester's offensive attack to only two total shots in the first half. Later in the second, West Chester was fired up, as more and more they attacked the Marauder defense, but even then, it still wasn't enough to get any goals in regulation for the Golden Rams. The defense held firm against the Marauder offense as well, as the Golden Rams and Marauders went into overtime. West Chester continued to bring their second half fire into the overtime period, as senior
Austin Eveland (Kennett Square, PA / Kennett) fired one past the stalwart Marauder defense, sealing the victory for the Golden Rams with a final score of 1-0.
Daniel Good (Exton, Pa./Downingtown East) also made two impressive saves over the course of his 98 minutes between the pipes to help West Chester record its second shutout victory of the week.
West Chester University next goes to Wilmington, Delaware, where they will begin their final two weeks of regular season action at Goldey-Beacom College on Wednesday at 3:30 PM, before returning home to face Shippensburg University at Rockwell Field at 2:30 PM.
