GREENSBURG, PA –
Leah Johnson (Columbus, N.J./Notre Dame) scored a team-best 17 points, and
Kyra Jefferson (Bethlehem, Pa./Freedom) chipped in 10, but visiting West Chester turned in a poor shooting performance, which led to a 73-53 defeat on the road at the hands of Seton Hill Tuesday afternoon.
West Chester (3-5, 1-2 PSAC), playing its first game in 10 days, shot just 32.3 percent from the field and misfired on all 12 attempts from beyond the 3-point arc. Seton Hill (7-4, 2-1) was able to take advantage of those missed opportunities to pick up its fourth win in its last five games.
Johnson posted a double-double with her 17 points and 10 rebounds. She also added six assists and three steals. But, it was not enough to keep the Golden Rams in the game down the stretch when the Griffins extended its lead to as many as 24 points with 1:28 to go.
West Chester returns to action on Saturday with another PSAC crossover game at Cal U.
