SHEPHERDSTOWN, VA—After the game ended in a standstill due to rain back in Mansfield last week, many of the Golden Rams were ready to roll as they traveled into Shepherd University, with Senior
Madison Bowman leading the charge.
Straight out of the gate they came for the Rams, with Bowman scoring not even three minutes into the play. The first half of the game, West Chester held Shepherd shotless and scoreless, having seven shots at Shepherd's goal and causing three to be saved. As the contest moved along, the upstart freshmen lead the charge, with
Kaitlynn Haughey scoring later in the first half, and
Lauren Corless getting in on the action with her own goal in the second half. The Lady Golden Rams seemed relentless on the pitch as they had outshot Shepherd by ten, with twelve total shots (seven on goal) compared to Shepherd's two (zero on goal). In the end, West Chester walked away with a big road win, defeating the Shepherd University Rams 3-0.
This game was a huge boost for the Lady Golden Rams, as they look ahead to next week, where they welcome East Stroudsburg University to West Chester University on Wednesday, September 15
th at 1:00 PM.
