WEST CHESTER, PA – It was a breezy afternoon for the Golden Rams as they carried on their unbeaten record in a 6-0 win against the Mansfield Mountaineers Wednesday.
Nicolette Harrison (Perkasie, PA / Pennridge) started off the scoring sweep in the 14th minute with a cross from
Maggie Lena (Santa Monica, CA / Santa Monica / Marquette).
West Chester (4-0-1) ended the first half with a 2-0 lead after an unassisted shot from
Jacqueline Hug (West Chester, PA / Unionville) hit the back of the net in the 38th minute.
Alyson Cutter (Warrington, PA / Central Bucks South) made a pass to
Jordyn Dupes (Middletown, PA / Middletown Aera) to put the Rams in the lead 3-0 shortly after the second half began.
The Golden Rams remained steady throughout the second half, after Cutter took
Kaitlynn Haughey's (Philadelphia, PA / Penn Charter) pass to the goal.
In the 75th minute,
Priscilla Walsh (Philadelphia, PA / Archbishop Ryan) forced the ball in the net giving the Golden Rams a 5-0 lead.
Kelli Collins (Lawrenceville, NJ / The Pennington School) finished off the match with the third unassisted goal in the 87th minute.
Goalkeeper
Hayley McGee (Mechanicsburg, PA / Cumberland Valley) made three saves in 75 minutes of action.
Audrey Schweizerhof (Perkasie, PA / Dock Mennonite Academy) played the final 15 minutes without making a save.
Mansfield (1-4-1) put up a good fight during the 90-minute match, with eight shots on goal and nine saves by goalkeeper Faith Cameron.
West Chester will be back on Rockwell Field at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday to take on the Millersville Marauders.
