WEST CHESTER, PA— After three weeks of no play, it seemed bleak for this year's men's soccer team that they were going to see the field due to COVID-19 issues. However, this changed today as the Golden Rams welcomed the rival Marauders of Millersville to Rockwell Field. Coming out of the gate, it seemed that the Golden Rams and Marauders were tightly matched throughout, until just before halftime when senior
Doug Goitia broke one through the Millersville defense to make it a 1-0 game. Later that next half, West Chester quickly got the ball running and scored just after five minutes into the second half, as redshirt senior
Ryan Keenan got a great shot on goal and scored to make it a 2-0 game. In its entirety, it felt as if Millersville were going to at least find one opportunity, as they ended up outshooting West Chester in both halves (17 for MU, 6 for WCU). Unfortunately for the Marauders, the Golden Rams defense held firm until just before the end of the day. Spencer Shortt of Millersville managed to snipe one by goalie
Daniel Good, as the Golden Rams survived a late surge by the Marauders to take a huge conference game win over Millersville University.
The West Chester University Men's Soccer team returns to action next week, as they look ahead to prepare to head to Shepherdstown, West Virginia to take on Shepherd University next Wednesday afternoon at 3:30 PM.
