WEST CHESTER, PA - It may not be a coincidence that an unruly tropical storm hit the area just two days before Ram Fest 2021. The rain brought good luck to West Chester's women's volleyball team, winning back-to-back matches to start off the season. The team won each match 3-0. In the first match against Goldey-Beacom,
WCU posted an impressive 37 kills and eight blocks in the opener, a 3-0 win over Goldey-Beacom College. The kills leader for the match was
Ellie Fisher (Wallingford, Pa./Strath Haven).
The second match against Franklin Pierce was even more impressive for kills, totaling 56 for the Golden Rams, leading by
Sarah Polacek (Johnstown, Pa./Westmont Hilltop). With only 4 total, WCU was not as strong as Franklin Pierce in blocking. The opposing school had 10 blocks in the match.
Day one of Ram Fest included Millersville, Mercyhurst, Goldey-Beacom, Jefferson and Franklin Pierce. Day two of the Ram Fest gets underway at Hollinger Field House on Saturday morning at 10 a.m.
