West Chester Men Sweeps Tri-Meet to Open 2022-23 Season

MEET RESULTS

WEST CHESTER, PA – The Golden Rams men looked very impressive in the swimming & diving team's sweep of a tri-meet with Shippensburg and Southern Connecticut State Saturday afternoon at Graham Natatorium.
 
West Chester topped SCSU, 197-89, and downed Shippensburg, 211-61.
 
Three different swimmers were double winners as the Golden Rams took the top spot in all 14 swimming events. Tyler Czeiner (Douglassville, Pa./Daniel Boone) was runner-up off both the 1-meter and 3m diving boards.
 
Nolan Benner (Green Lane, Pa./Boyertown) won the 100-yard breaststroke and the 100 freestyle while swimming the anchor leg of the 400 free relay that placed first in the final event of the meet. Gabe Laslo (Wind Gap, Pa./Nazareth Academy) won both the 100 and 200 butterfly while swimming the third leg of the 200 medley relay that also won. Paul Demesy (Saint-Ulrich, France) won both the 500 and 1000 free as well.
 
Dalton Fink (Pottstown, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) won the 100 backstroke and led off that 200 medley relay that was a winner. Teammates Devin Metzgar (Macungie, Pa./Emmaus) and Joel Dunnigan (York, Pa./Dallastown) tied for first in the 50 free with an identical time of 21.99. Metzgar also anchored the 200 medley relay and swam the third leg of the 400 free relay.
 
The Golden Rams will be back in the pool and on the diving boards on Oct. 15 for another tri-meet at home against Lehigh and Bloomsburg.
