Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men's Soccer Falls to Millersville

Millersville, Pa.,-Looking to bounce back after a non-league setback on Wednesday afternoon, the West Chester men's soccer team (7-4-2, 4-2-2) returned to action on Saturday afternoon at Millersville (8-3-4, 5-2-3). West Chester battled throughout and was within a score at the halftime break but two late Millersville goals but the game out of reach as the Marauders earned a 3-0 victory over the rival Golden Rams.

Midway through the first half, Millersville capitalized on its early pressure, scoring the first goal of the contest in the 32nd minute, which despite late-half pressure by the Golden Rams was enough to allow the Marauders to carry a 1-0 lead into the halftime break.

In the second half, Millersville controlled the possession throughout much of the half, outshooting the Golden Rams 10-1 in the half, including three shots blocked by the Golden Ram defense in the 49th minute.

Millersville maintained its pressure for the remainder of the second half, which led to a pair of goals in the 62nd and 79th minutes, which put the game out of reach entering the final 10 minutes of play.

Daniel Good (Exton, Pa./Downingtown East) worked hard in goal for West Chester, making four big saves to slow the dangerous Marauder offense, and keep West Chester in the game throughout much of the contest.

Millersville ended the match with a 20-5 advantage in shots, including a 7-1 lead in shots on goal, thanks in part to a 6-1 advantage in corner kicks.
