WACO, TEXAS - West Chester University junior linebacker,
Jackson Taylor (Glenside, Pa./Abington), was named a 2022 American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Second-Team All-America Monday.

The AFCA's Division II?All-America Selection Committee is made up of three head coaches from each of the AFCA's seven districts, one of whom serves as a district chairman, along with another head coach who serves as the chairman of the selection committee. The coaches in each district are responsible for ranking the top players in their respective districts prior to a conference call between the district chairmen and the committee chairman on which the teams are chosen. Members of the AFCA Coaches' All-America First Team will receive a plaque commemorating their selection to the team, while members of the Second Team will receive a certificate.

Taylor makes his first appearance on the second team All-America squad with his selection. He was the only Golden Rams player selected for the all-region squad.

West Chester's middle linebacker led the team in tackles with 97 stops. The three-time, first team All-PSAC East linebacker and two-time PSAC East Defensive Player of the Year reached double figures in stops five times and posted a season-best 15 tackles against Millersville. His 97 tackles on the year was a single-season high. It ranked seventh overall in the PSAC and third in the Eastern Division. He led the conference in fumble recoveries with four. His 20 tackles for a loss ranked eighth in the nation and second in the PSAC. He was credited with seven QB hurries and six sacks.
