Women's Lacrosse Downs Shepherd, 23-10

SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV - Eighth-ranked West Chester University went on the road to pick up a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Eastern Division victory over host Shepherd University, 23-10, Wednesday afternoon.

West Chester (6-1, 4-1 PSAC East) got a career-high seven goals from freshman midfielder Keri Barnett (Glenolden, Pa./Archbishop Carroll) and six from fellow middie Hannah Stanislawczyk (Mohnton, Pa./Gov. Mifflin). Senior attack Lindsay Monigle (Rehoboth Beach, Del./Cape Henlopen) posted a seven-point afternoon of her own (3G, 4A). Meg O'Donnell (Hatboro, Pa./Upper Moreland) scored a goal and added three assists.

The Golden Rams opened up a 3-1 contest after the first quarter by scoring eight times in the second and taking an 11-4 advantage by halftime. The visitors outscored the hosts 7-2 in the fourth quarter to close the game strong as well.

West Chester travels to Kutztown on Saturday for another PSAC East contest.
