West Chester Men Fall To UPenn in Dual, 191-99

MEET RESULTS

PHILADELPHIA – Three individual first-place finishes and a relay that won highlighted West Chester's non-league swim meet at the University of Pennsylvania's Sheerr Pool Friday night. The host Quakers downed the Golden Rams, 191-99.
 
Paul Demesy (Saint Ulrich, France) topped the field in the 1000-yard freestyle touching the wall in 9 minutes, 28.36 seconds while Kolos Nagy (Szazhalombatta, Hungary) won the 400 individual medley and Dalton Fink (Pottstown, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) won the 100 butterfly. The 200 free relay consisting of Devin Metzgar (Macungie, Pa./Emmaus), Logan Brockway (York, Pa./Dallastown), Tyler Hall (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn) and Nolan Benner (Green Lane, Pa./Boyertown) was also a winner Friday.
 
Demesy also finished right behind Nagy in the 400 IM with a time of 4:12.62. Nagy recorded a winning time of 4:11.19. Nagy was also second in the 200 backstroke. Benner and Metzgar registered third-place showings in the 100 free and 200 free, respectively, in addition to helping that relay to a win at the end of the meet. Fink placed third in the 50 free to go along with his win in the 100 fly. Meanwhile, Gabe Laslo (Wind Gap, Pa./Nazareth Academy) was third in the 200 fly.
 
The diving competition had incomplete results at press time.
 
West Chester gets right back in the pool Saturday morning when it welcomes New York University to Graham Natatorium for another non-league affair on Senior Day.
