Men's Swimming and Diving Drops Senior Day Meet vs NYU

WEST CHESTER, Pa.-
The West Chester men's swimming and diving team returned to the pool for the second time in two days vs NYU on Saturday morning in its Senior Day meet. West Chester competed well throughout the afternoon, but NYU was able to edge out the Golden Rams for a 121-120 victory to conclude the regular season.

Prior to Saturday afternoon's meet, West Chester honored its three seniors Logan Brockway (York, Pa./Dallastown), Tyler Hall (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn), and Collin Pettit (Havertown, Pa./Haverford)
West Chester started off the morning with a 1-2 finish in the 200 medley relay, clocking times of 1 minute and 32.95 seconds and 1:37.40, respectively.

Paul Demesy (Saint Ulrich, France) also earned a victory in the 1000 free with a time of 9:32.66, while Collin Petit (Havertown, Pa./Haverford) was second in 9:48.16.

Brody Heckman (Reading, Pa./Wilson) led the way for West Chester in the 200 free with a fourth-place finish in 1:45.18, while Max Bachman (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn) was close behind in fifth with a time of 1:45.59.
Devin Metzger (Macungie, Pa./Emmaus) picked up a second-place finish in the 50 free with a time of 21.23 seconds, while Nolan Benner (Green Lane, Pa./Boyertown) was close behind in 21.44 seconds to finish third. Dalton Fink (Pottstown, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) took fourth in 21.74.

Kolos Nagy (Szazhalombatta, Hungary) took third in the 200 IM with a time of 1:56.74, while Ben Desclous (Hagerstown, Md./North Hagerstown) and Logan Brockway (York, Pa./Dallastown) took fourth and fifth in 1:56.84 and 1:57.66, respectively.

Gabe Laslo (Wind Gap, Pa./Nazareth) took second in the 100 fly with a time of 50.70 seconds, while Joel Dunnigan (York, Pa./Dallastown) was third in 51.33 seconds.

Metzer picked up another second-place finish in the 100 free in 46.66, while Heckman was third in 48.03, followed by Tyler Hall (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn) in fourth in 48.27.

Fink picked up a victory in the 100-back, finishing in 51.05, just ahead of the second-place finisher from NYU, while Brockway was fourth in 52.38, just ahead of Nagy in fifth in 53.58.

Demesy electrified the Graham Natatorium faithful with his performance in the 500 free, narrowly outtouching his competitor from NYU to win the 500 free in a time of 4:40.76, while Pettit was third in 4:43.87.
Tyler Czeiner (Douglassville, Pa./Daniel Boone) took second in the 1-meter diving with a score of 245.48. Czeiner later finished third in the three-meter diving competition with a score of 232.28.

Nikita Pisarenko (Tallinn, Estonia) captured the 100 breast with a time of 58.65 seconds, while AJ McClurkin (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy) was fourth in 1:00.63.

West Chester also captured the 400 free relay in a time of 3:06.64 while also finishing third in 3:10.95.

After today's meet, West Chester will not compete again until February 15th in what will be the first day of the PSAC Swimming Championships in York, Pennsylvania.
