EAST STROUDSBURG, PA – West Chester and East Stroudsburg played to a scoreless draw in their Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division men's soccer match Saturday afternoon at Eiler-Martin Stadium.
West Chester (7-2-2, 4-1-1 PSAC East) and East Stroudsburg (5-0-5, 1-0-5) showed why they are battling near the top of the conference standings in playing to the scoreless tie. The Golden Rams remained atop the Eastern Division standings – two points ahead of both Bloomsburg and Millersville – with the point this afternoon. Their four conference wins are the most among Eastern Division teams.
It marked the second straight tie between the two sides. ESU and West Chester met in the first round of the PSAC Tournament last fall with that game ending in a 2-2 knot. The Warriors advanced on penalty kicks. The Golden Rams and Warriors will meet in the final game of the regular season next month in a contest that may have a major impact on the final standings and playoff placement.
Daniel Good (Exton, Pa./Downingtown East) made two saves for West Chester in the tie. Braydan Evans made three for ESU.
West Chester travels to Shepherd on Wednesday for a 1 p.m. match.
