WEST CHESTER, PA –
Keri Barnett (Glenolden, Pa./Archbishop Carroll) scored four goals, and
Madeline Edinger (Perkasie, Pa./Pennridge) and
Hannah Stanislawczyk (Mohnton, Pa./Gov. Mifflin) each added a hat trick as No. 4 West Chester downed visiting Jefferson by a score of 19-10 on a blistery, blustery Saturday afternoon at Vonnie Gros Field.
West Chester (3-0) took control of the game early with a six-goal run, most of that coming in the first quarter, that put the Golden Rams out in front 7-1 moments into the second frame. Jefferson (1-2) mounted a bit of a comeback in the fourth quarter, outscoring the hosts by a 6-2 margin. However, it was just too far to come all the way back.
Edinger and Stanislawczyk each added an assist to their scoring totals to finish with four points.
Brenna Smith (Upper Arlington, Ohio/Upper Arlington),
Julia Littlewood (Berwyn, Pa./Conestoga) and
Lindsay Monigle (Rehoboth Beach, Del./Cape Henlopen) each scored a pair of goals. Monigle added a pair of assists for a four-point outing.
Stanislawczyk scooped up a career-high nine ground balls in the game coming just one shy of the school record. It was the most ground balls in a game by a Golden Rams player since Julianne Clemens in 2021.
Jessica Gorr (Exton, Pa./Bishop Shanahan) made four saves in 49 minutes in the cage. All three goalkeepers for the Golden Rams played Saturday. Jefferson's Melanie Goldstein went the distance in the cage making seven saves.
West Chester travels to Belmont Abbey next Saturday for another non-league tilt at 1 p.m.
