BLOOMSBURG, Pa.- The West Chester women's tennis team (8-5, 6-0) took to the road on Wednesday afternoon, looking to remain perfect in PSAC East play against rival Bloomsburg. West Chester captured the doubles point by a 2-1 final before sweeping singles action en route to a 7-0 victory over the Huskies.
West Chester captured the second and third doubles points with 6-0, 6-1 victories in each, and won five of its six single s matches in two sets to improve to 6-0 in East play. Bloomsburg used a late charge to force a third set in the third singles, but
Tori Alexander (Norristown, Pa./Spring Ford) captured the third set by a 10-8 final.
Elaina Lee (Pottstown, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) clinched the match for West Chester with her win in first singles, winning 7-6, 6-2 after helping win her second doubles match by a 6-0 final.
West Chester returns to action on Friday afternoon vs Goldey-Beacom beginning at 1 p.m. on South Campus.
