BALTIMORE, MD. – The West Chester University women's track and field squad set eight new personal bests along with a number of PSAC Qualifying efforts on Saturday at the Hopkins Loyola Invite hosted by Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland.
Bella Marchini (Schwenksville, Pa./Spring Ford) set a new personal best of 4 minutes 41.79 seconds in the 1500-meter run to finish third in this event, leading the Golden Rams on the track, while also hitting a PSAC Qualifying time.
Annika Hummel (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Mechanicsburg Area) finished third in the pole vault after she reached a new personal record height of 11 feet 5.25 inches (3.49m), which also served as a PSAC Qualifying mark.
Emma Bronowicz (Sunbury, Pa./Shikellamy) was 15th, marking 9 feet 5.75 inches (2.89m).
Zhayria Washington (West Chester, Pa./West Chester Rustin) threw 39 feet 9.75 inches (12.13m) in the shot put for the fourth-place finish, which served as a PSAC Qualifying mark.
Jade Salmon (Rochester, N.Y./Gates Chili) set two personal bests on the day. The Golden Ram reached 4 feet 11 inches (1.50m) in the high jump that landed her in seventh place and ran 13.70 seconds in the 100-meter dash.
Setting new PRs in the javelin,
Rebecca Reeder (Montoursville, Pa./Montoursville) threw 108 feet 8 inches (33.14m) for sixth place and
Olivia Vajda (Bethlehem, Pa./Northampton) threw 98 feet 11 inches (30.16m) for ninth.
With a throw of 100 feet 5 inches (30.62m),
Chloe Mattie (West Chester, Pa./Rustin) placed 12th in the discus and set a new personal best.
Allie Myers (Dallastown, Pa./Dallastown) led a group of six Golden Rams in the 5000-meter run after she finished in 18th with a time of 19:35.8. Taking the 23rd-25th place slots were
Joli Golembiewski (Drexel Hill, Pa./Upper Darby) (19:55.35),
Erin Witter (Montoursville, Pa./Montoursville) (19:58.51),
and Josey George (Oxford, Ga./Walnut Grove) (19:59.09). Witter's time was a new personal best time as well. Close behind them was
Abigail Marion (South Abington Twp., Pa./Abington Heights) (20:16.10) and
Jenny Weiss (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township) (20:17.69), in 27th and 28th place, respectively.
West Chester's 4x100-meter relay team took sixth place after crossing the finish line in 48.61 seconds.
