West Chester Men Get Back in the Pool at Indian River State College

MEET RESULTS

FORT PIERCE, Fla. – Paul Demesy (Saint Ulrich, France) and Dalton Fink (Pottstown, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) posted a pair of runner-up performances to lead West Chester's men's swim team at a tri-meet with host Indian River State College and Nova Southeastern Friday afternoon at the Ann Wilder Pool.
 
West Chester dropped its matches with both Indian River State and Nova Southeastern. IRSC took a 185-77 decision while Nova topped WCU, 153-108.
 
Demesy was second in the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 9 minutes, 24.2 seconds. Jacob Texter (West Grove, Pa./Avon Grove) placed fifth behind Demesy in 9:54.19. Demesy also placed third in the 500 free (4:37.22). Daniel Dunigan (Lansdale, Pa./Norh Penn) was fourth in 4:43.33 while Texter was seventh in 4:47.98. Dunigan placed seventh in the 200 free (1:45.86) while helping the 400 free relay 'B' side to a seventh-place finish.
 
Fink finished runner-up in the 50 backstroke in a time of 23.68 seconds. He was fourth in the 100 back (51.91) while helping the 400 free relay 'A' side to a fourth-place showing in 3:06.38. He led off the 200 medley relay that placed fourth as well.
 
Devin Metzger (Macungie, Pa./Emmaus) was fourth in the 100 free (46.53) and fifth in the 50 free (20.9). He was also a part of the 200 medley relay and the 400 free relay 'A' side with Fink. Joel Dunnigan (York, Pa./Dallastown) placed seventh in the 50 free and eighth in the 100 free behind Metzger while also taking part in the 400 free relay with the 'A' side.
 
Breyden Wright (Georgetown, Del./Sussex Central) placed fourth in the 100 butterfly (51.48) and sixth in the 50 fly (23.46). Gabe Laslo (Wind Gap, Pa./Nazareth Area) was right behind him in each race, finishing seventh in the 50 fly and fifth in the 100 fly.
 
Nolan Benner (Green Lane, Pa./Boyertown) finished fourth in the 100 breaststroke while Aidan Falkish (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn) was fifth in the 100 breast and fifth in the 200 free. Kols Nagy (Szazhalombatta, Hungary) posted a pair of sixth-place finishes in the 100 back and the 200 individual medley.
 
West Chester returns to the friendly confines of Graham Natatorium next Friday for its final dual meet of the season against University of Pennsylvania. That meet will serve as Senior Day for the men's and women's swimmers.
