No. 6 West Chester Shuts Out Limestone, 4-0

WEST CHESTER, PAJasmine Miller (Millersville, Pa./Penn Manor) registered a hat trick, and Adriana Palumbo (West Deptford, N.J./West Deptford) posted three assists to lead sixth-ranked West Chester to a 4-0 shutout over visiting Limestone on a beautiful Monday afternoon at Vonnie Gros Field.
 
West Chester (9-5), in the midst of a five-game in nine-day stint of the schedule, concluded its non-league slate for 2024 with the win over Limestone (8-5).
 
Paige Wolfe (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown East) scored a goal and assisted on another to assist in the scoring as well.
 
Miller scored all three of her goals off tips in front. Two of those came on corner opportunities.
 
Following a scoreless first quarter, West Chester potted the first goal of the game in the 16th minute. Miller tipped a shot from Ella Shockley (Delmar, Del./Delmar) off a penalty corner past Limestone goalkeeper, Taylor Rawlings.
 
The Golden Rams scored two more times in the third quarter to open things up, and then added another tally in the fourth to put the game away. Wolfe blasted a slapshot from the top of the circle past Rawlings off a feed from Palumbo at the 34th minute mark. Miller then tipped in a shot from Palumbo off a penalty corner after time had expired in the third quarter.
 
Miller finished off her third hat trick of the season in the 49th minute when she tipped a shot from Wolfe into the cage.
 
Ryan Curley (Malvern, Pa./Great Valley) did not have to make a save to record the shutout. Limestone took just two shots in the game and both were off target.
 
West Chester hosts No. 2 Kutztown on Wednesday at Vonnie Gros at 4 p.m.
