Women's Volleyball Earns 3-0 Victory over Kutztown in Final Road Match of 2024 Season

KUTZTOWN, Pa.-CeCe Isenberg (Berwick, Pa./Berwick) led West Chester with 11 kills to help the West Chester University women's volleyball team (13-13, 5-7) improve to 3-1 in November with a 3-0 (25-19, 25-16, 25-19) victory over Kutztown (1-25, 0-12).

Zoe Haines (York, Pa./York Suburban) and Anna Richardson (Smyrna, Del./Smyrna) chipped in nine each, while Shaena Brooks (Willoughby Hills, OH/Eastlake North) led the team in aces with four. Nicole Dimiris (Hockessin, Del./Saint Mark's) led the squad in blocks with five, while Lacie Brown (Cochranville, Pa./Avon Grove) led in assists (28) and digs (14) in the three-set victory.

After trading points early in the first set, West Chester jumped out to a 20-13 lead before a 5-0 Kutztown run cut the lead down to 20-18, forcing a Golden Ram timeout. The timeout did its job as West Chester closed the set on a 5-1 run to take a 1-0 lead with a 25-19 first-set victory.

West Chester jumped out to an early 13-6 lead after a Macey Baum (Spring Grove, Pa./Spring Grove) kill and used this early advantage to capture the second set by a 25-16 final to take a commanding 2-0 lead in the match.

In the third set, West Chester and Kutztown traded points early before a 9-4 Golden Ram run gave the visitors a 19-14 lead late in the third set. The two sides resumed trading points late in the third set but West Chester used its mid-set lead to hold for a 25-19 third set victory and a 3-0 match triumph.

Grace White led Kutztown in kills with nine, while Julia Post tied with White for the team lead in blocks with two. Saige Thibodeaux led the team in assists with 13 and digs with 12.

West Chester will kick off its final homestand of the year on Friday night vs Shepherd beginning at 6 p.m. before hosting Shippensburg for Senior Day at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
