WEST CHESTER, PA – California (Pa.) defeated host West Chester, 38-28, in a non-league Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) football contest at John A. Farrell Stadium Saturday afternoon.
West Chester (0-2) could not muster much on offense until the fourth quarter while Cal (1-1) wore down the Golden Rams defense as the game progressed.
The Golden Rams scored three touchdowns in the fourth quarter with
Cooper Jordan (Downingtown, Pa./Bishop Shanahan) throwing a pair of TD passes.
Jayden Williams (Bethlehem, Pa./Allentown Central Catholic) rushed for a pair of scores in the game as well.
Jordan finished the game 20-for-35 with a pair of TD passes and one interception. He was also the team's leading rusher with 45 yards on 12 carries.
D'Shaun Seals (Philadelphia, Pa./Imhotep Charter) caught eight passes for 112 yards on 10 targets.
Defensively,
Connor Noble (Chester Springs, Pa./Downingtown East) led the team with 12 tackles.
Shane Mosley (Havertown, Pa./Haverford) had 11 tackles, and
Luke Trunell (Yardley, Pa./Conwell-Egan) had 10.
West Chester hits the road for the first time on the young season when the Golden Rams travel to Greensburg, Pa., to take on Seton Hill University in the second week of crossover play in the PSAC next Saturday.
