Stop the Streak

West Chester is looking to halt its two-game losing streak with a win tonight. The current two-game losing streak is the Golden Rams' first streak since 2021. West Chester has not lost three in a row since September of the 2013 season.

Chasing 400

Head coach Betty Ann Kempf Townsley continues her search for win no. 400 on Saturday after falling to Millersville on Wednesday afternoon. When Kempf Townsley reaches this milestone, she will become just the 18th active head coach to do so at any level of NCAA women’s soccer and one of just four active DII coaches to reach this plateau.

Road Trip!

Saturday night is the first of three straight away from home for West Chester as the Golden Rams visit Mansfield on Saturday, Lock Haven next Sunday, and Kutztown on October 2 before returning home to face Bloomsburg on October 5.

Series History

West Chester holds a 27-0-2 lead in the all-time series vs Mansfield and has won each of the last five without allowing a goal in any of those five meetings.

Hello Coach

West Chester alums may see a familiar face on the Mansfield sideline on Saturday night as Tara Koleski, who led West Chester in 2004 and 2005, is in her first year in charge of Mansfield after replacing John Shaffer ahead of the 2024 non-traditional season.

Scouting Mansfield

Mansfield enters play on Saturday with a record of 0-1-3 in search of its first win of the 2024 season. The Mountaineers opened the year with a 1-1 draw vs Caldwell before falling to Lock Haven by a 1-0 final on September 11. Since then, Mansfield has played to a pair of draws, playing to a 3-3 draw vs Millersville on September 14 and a 1-1 draw at Roberts Wesleyan on Wednesday night.

Katelyn Rueppel leads the way for Koleski and the Mountaineers offensively, scoring a team-high four goals so far this year for eight points, while Taylar Luckenbill (younger sister of former WCU player Haley Luckenbill) leads the way in assists with two. In goal, Alyssa Shuman has started all four matches and shows a record of 0-1-2 with a 1.58 goals-against average in her 342 minutes of work. Shuman did exit early against Millersville, giving way to Serenity Esterline, who faced two shots in 18 minutes of scoreless action to help her team pick up a draw against the Marauders.
