WEST CHESTER, Pa.- The West Chester University women's volleyball team (10-2, 1-0) is preparing to return to the court this weekend for two more PSAC East clashes as the Golden Rams will visit Kutztown (7-6) on Friday night before heading to East Stroudsburg (10-4) on Saturday afternoon. The Golden Rams' Friday evening match will begin at 6 p.m. in Keystone Arena at Kutztown, while the Saturday afternoon match at Koehler Field House is scheduled to start at 2 p.m.

West Chester went 1-1 last weekend, dropping a three-set match at Holy Family on Friday evening before bouncing back with a dominant 3-0 victory over Jefferson on the road on Saturday morning. At Jefferson, West Chester was led by nine kills from
Zoe Haines (York, Pa./York Suburban) and three aces from both
Bria Stepp (Cranberry Twp, Pa./Seneca Valley) and
Lacie Brown (Cochranville, Pa./Avon Grove) as the Golden Rams cruised to a dominant 3-0 victory.
Flock Talk
With her nine kills on Saturday, Haines is now the team leader in kills with 114, just one ahead of
Abiah Lane (Ardmore, Pa./Lower Merion) with 113. Brown continues to lead the team in assists with 352 while ranking second in aces behind Stepp (20) with 15. Stepp is second on the squad in assists with 33.
Elianna Freeman (Jersey Village, TX/Jersey Village) is first on the team in digs with 110, while Brown is second with 98.
Julia Kwitchoff (Niagara Falls, N.Y./Niagara Wheatfield) is also first on the squad in blocks with 33, while
CeCe Isenberg (Berwick, Pa./Berwick).
Strong Start
West Chester is a PSAC East best 10-2 to open the season, and this is the fastest the team has gotten to 10 wins since 2022 (13-3 on 10/1), which was also the team's last PSAC Tournament appearance.
No Place Like Home
This weekend will wrap up a two-week, four-match road trip for the Golden Rams, which saw the team go 1-1 to start the trip last weekend at Holy Family and Jefferson. West Chester, which is 6-0 at home this season and has yet to drop a set in Hollinger, has a five-match homestand to look forward to, beginning with a non-league match against Felician next Wednesday night.
Scouting Kutztown
Kutztown will open league play against West Chester on Friday night at 7-6 on the year after defeating Jefferson by a 3-2 final on Tuesday night for its third win in four matches dating back to a 3-0victory over Georgian Court on September 25. At Jefferson on Tuesday, Kutztown found itself down 2-0 early after dropping the first two sets 25-18 and 25-15, but roared back to win the match by a 3-2 final with 25-22, 25-21, and 15-12 victories in the third, fourth, and fifth sets.
Paige Skinner leads the team in kills with 168, while Madilyn Bogovic is second with 153. Bolgovic also leads the team in aces with 27, while Emma Baldridge is first on the team in assists with 403. Saige Thibodeaux leads the defense with 247 digs, while Grace White is first on the team in blocks with 39.
Scouting ESU
East Stroudsburg will also open league play this weekend, starting with a 6 p.m. match at home against Millersville on Friday night. The Warriors enter the weekend at 10-4 on the year after defeating Holy Family by a 3-1 final on Tuesday night to halt a two-match losing streak. ESU is a perfect 3-0 at home with sweeps of Southern New Hampshire and Queens, along with a 3-1 win over Georgian Court.
Anna Coulter is first on the team in kills and blocks with 163 kills and 73 rejections, while Kata Kovacs leads the squad in assists with 205. Marta Leeland is first on the team in aces (23) and digs (194), while Kovacs and Coulter are second and third in aces with 19 and 15, respectively.
