Women's Volleyball Rolls Past Millersville, 3-0

MILLERSVILLE, Pa.- Zoe Haines (York, Pa./York Suburban) and Julia Kwitchoff (Niagara Falls, N.Y./Niagara Wheatfield) tied for the match lead in kills with 13 to help lead the West Chester University women's volleyball team (15-5, 5-3) to a 3-0 (25-17, 25-10, 25-10) victory over Millersville (5-16, 1-7) on Wednesday night.

West Chester jumped out to an 8-3 lead before stretching its advantage to 17-8 after a 6-0 run, which included an Abiah Lane (Ardmore, Pa./Lower Merion) ace and kills by Haines and CeCe Isenberg (Berwick, Pa./Berwick). Millersville countered the run with three points after a Lane service error, cutting the Golden Rams' lead to 17-12. West Chester finished the set with a kill by Lane, which lifted the Golden Rams to a 25-17 opening-set victory.

West Chester hit .394 (15-2-33) in the first set with three aces and a pair of blocks to take the early 1-0 lead in the match.
West Chester raced out to an early 7-3 lead in the second set before winning 15 of the following 17 points to take a 22-7 lead en route to a 25-10 second-set victory.

West Chester jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the third set thanks in part to a pair of early kills by Haines. West Chester never wavered in its third set victory, cruising to a 25-10 victory, closing the match out on an 8-0 run led by four kills from Isenberg to pick up a 3-0 win over the Marauders.

Isenberg was the third and final Golden Ram in double figures for kills with 10, while also leading the team in blocks with three. Lane led West Chester in aces with two, while Megan Wolfe (Pine Grove, Pa./Pine Grove) chipped in a pair of aces along with a team-best 15 digs.

Lacie Brown (Cochranville, Pa./Avon Grove) led West Chester in assists with 39.

West Chester hit .381 (53-10-113) in the victory, including a .429 (18-3-35) in the second set and a .333 (20-5-45) effort in the third set of the victory.

Millersville hit just .109 in the loss, its fourth in a row, despite a team-best seven kills from Taylor Welter.
