West Chester Men Swim Past Bloomsburg, 127-78

MEET RESULTS

BLOOMSBURG, PA – Paul Demesy (Saint Ulrich, France) won a pair of races while Bartosz Brzozowski (Warsaw, Poland) won the 200-yard backstroke and led off the 200 medley relay that also took first place as visiting West Chester topped host Bloomsburg, 127-78 inside Nelson Field House Pool Friday night.
 
The 200 medley relay led off the evening with a winning time of 1 minute, 33.78 seconds. Brzozowski was followed into the water by Christian Henry (York, Pa./Central York), Brey Wright (Georgetown, DEL Sussex Central) and Till Schroeder (Wiesbaden, Germany).
 
Brzozowski won the 200 back in 1:33.80. He was followed up by Kolos Nagy (Szazhalombatta, Hungary) and Augustus Miller (Pittsburgh, PA North Allegheny). It was one of three events in which the Golden Rams took the top three spots in the results.
 
Marti Rosell Diaz (L'Albiol, Spain) led a trio of WCU swimmers to the wall in the 1000 freestyle with a time of 9:42.82. Danny Dunigan (Lansdale, PA North Penn) was second (9:50.94) while Jacob Texter (West Grove, PA Avon Grove) (10:02.97) was third. Diaz also was the third of a trio that topped the list in the 500 free. Demesy was first (4:39.6) and Dunigan was second (4:41.33). Diaz posted a time of 4:46.62.
 
West Chester's Nathan Noel (Destrehan, LA Destrehan) and Bloomsburg's Jake Drake put on a show in the 200 butterfly. Drake won the event with a time of 1:52.59 with Noel right on his heels with a 1:52.87. In fact, the top three finishers were all under 1:60.00 in a tremendously fast race for this early in the season.
 
Nagy won the 200 individual medley in addition to his second in the 200 back. West Chester won seven of the 11 events on the evening. Kai Hang (Pennsburg, PA Upper Perkiomen) was the other first-place effort in the 200 breaststroke. Henry placed second in both the 200 IM and the 200 breast while swimming the second leg of the 200 medley relay.
 
West Chester returns to the pool at Graham Natatorium on Nov. 8 for a dual meet against Rowan University.
