MILLERSVILLE, PA –
Caitlynn Szarko (Eldersburg, Md./Liberty) notched the only goal of the game to lift fifth-ranked West Chester to a 1-0 victory over host Millersville in a non-conference tilt at Biemesderfer Stadium Wednesday evening.
Szarko scored her sixth goal of the season in the 18th minute to put the Golden Rams on top. West Chester's stout defense took over from there, blanking Millersville (7-10) the rest of the way. It was the fifth straight game without a goal for the Marauders while West Chester (12-4) recorded its third consecutive shutout.
Goalkeeper
Audra Szymborksi (Furlong, Pa./Central Bucks East) made six saves to pick up the win in the cage and extend her consecutive scoreless minutes streak to 188 minutes. Sarah Crysler made nine saves for Millersville.
In a game that was vastly different from the two team's previous meeting earlier this year, the two teams combined for just Szarko's lone tally, after the two sides posted nine total goals back on October 1.
West Chester outshot Millersville, 14-8, and held an 11-6 edge in penalty corners.
West Chester concludes its 2025 regular season at home on Saturday with a 4 p.m. battle with IUP.
