WEST CHESTER, PA – Assumption University quarterback, Dom Santiago threw three touchdown passes and ran for two more as the visiting Greyhounds defeated host West Chester, 42-24, in a non-league season finale at Tomlinson-Fillippo Field at John A. Farrell Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Assumption (8-2) remains alive for a shot at the NCAA II Playoffs with its victory over West Chester (4-7), who saw its fall campaign come to a close. The Greyhounds ran out to a 28-7 lead by halftime and never looked back.
The visitors scored on long plays of 75 yards, 66 yards and 49 yards with the last two scores serving as the only points of the second half for the Assumption. West Chester defender,
Maurice Beverly (Philadelphia, Pa./Imhotep Charter) returned a blocked field goal attempt by the visitors 71 yards for a score in the contest.
Santiago finished the game 9-for-15 for 258 yards and three TDs against one interception. Kameron Robbins rushed for 137 yards, including a 66-yard TD run, to pace the Greyhounds offensively.
Ivan Thorpe (Philadelphia, Pa./Chestnut Hill Academy) caught a game-high seven passes for 40 yards, including an 8-yard TD pass from quarterback
Colin O'Sullivan (Fort Washington, Pa./Upper Dublin). Thorped racked up 79 all-purpose yards in the loss.
Matt Iuvara (Haddon Heights, N.J./Haddon Heights) caught six passes for a team-best 55 yards and a 26-yard touchdown.

Jimmy Wright (Havertown, Pa./Haverford) led the team with 14 tackles and one interception. MLB
Connor Noble (Chester Springs, Pa./Downingtown East) posted 11 tackles and finished the season with 101 stops on the year, making it three campaigns with over 100 tackles in three years at West Chester.
Jack Fry (Norristown, Pa./Archbishop Carroll) made three tackles and blocked the field goal attempt by Assumption that Beverly scooped up at the 29-yard line and raced down the near sideline for a score. It was the first time since 2017 that the Golden Rams returned a blocked field goal for a touchdown. Shaquille James turned the trick against Lock Haven that season.
Saturday's season finale also marked Senior Day for members of the football team, INCOMPARABLE Golden Rams Marching Band, nationall ranked cheerleading squad and the team's athletic trainers. Meanwhile, five new members of the Killinger Foundation Football Hall of Fame were introduced to the crowd at halftime.
