WEST CHESTER, Pa.- Former West Chester softball standout,
Alexa Peterson, has entered the NCAA Softball head coaching ranks after accepting a position as the head coach at Division III Immaculata University. Immaculata is just outside of nearby Malvern, Pennsylvania.
In her new role with the Mighty Macs, Peterson will serve as the head softball coach and will be a full-time member of the Department of Athletics and Recreation as an assistant to the Athletic Director.
Peterson helped West Chester to three PSAC Tournament appearances, including two PSAC Championships, and three NCAA Tournament appearances, including one Regional title.
In her career as a Golden Ram, Peterson appeared in 85 games with 35 starts and was a career .315 (41-for-130) hitter with six doubles, one triple, and six home runs. She drove in 37 runs, including 26 in her senior season, when she hit .333 (27-for-81) with five home runs, three doubles, and a triple, serving as an everyday player in the infield for much of the season and an important bat off the bench in the postseason run.
Since graduating from West Chester with her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science in 2024, Peterson has been an assistant coach at Haverford College and for 16U Pegasus Fast Pitch. She was also a softball instructor and strength and conditioning coach for MJB Sports Performance and a personal trainer/client success manager for Driven Strength and Fitness.
